About me
My name is Kerri Segal, and I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian based in Sydney.
I have 25 years of dietetic experience in hospitals, private practice, and nutritional lecturing. I qualified as a dietitian at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and became an Accredited Practising Dietitian and member of the Dietitians Association of Australia in 2008. After moving to Australia with my family in December 2019, I established my Sydney-based practice in May 2020.
Health, nutrition, and exercise have always been at the heart of my work. My approach is practical, and highly individualised — focused on helping each client feel empowered to become the healthiest and most confident version of themselves. Through one-on-one coaching and personalised nutrition plans tailored to lifestyle, exercise, and health needs, I work alongside my clients to create realistic and sustainable change.
My key areas of expertise include:
- Paediatrics and adolescent health
- Neurodivergence and ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
- Gastrointestinal conditions and digestive health
- Lifestyle-related conditions, including high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and weight management
- Nutrition across the life cycle, including preconception, pregnancy, menopause, and healthy ageing
- Eating disorders and disordered eating
My journey into nutrition is also deeply personal. As a child, I experienced severe sensory-based food aversions — what is now recognised as ARFID. More recently, being diagnosed with ADHD, raising a neurodivergent family, and supporting a daughter with ARFID has given me first-hand insight into how developmental differences can affect appetite, mood, concentration, energy, sleep, and family life as a whole.
This lived experience allows me to connect with my clients with both professional expertise and genuine empathy. I understand that nutrition is never just about food — it is about wellbeing, confidence, and quality of life.
I am passionate about supporting people to build confidence in their health journey, improve their relationship with food, feel more energised, balanced, and comfortable within themselves, and ultimately love who they see in the mirror.
